Cisco VPN client / ndiswrapper / BCM4309

I am having problems using Cisco VPN client over the wireless network connection.
My setup is the following:

Inspiron 5160 with TrueMobile 1450 a/b/g card (BCM4309)
Netgear MR816 (rev 1) 802.11b router
Fedora Core 2, unmodified 2.6.5-1.358 kernel
ndiswrapper 0.11
Cisco VPN client, versions 4.0.4b, 4.0.5, 4.6

Both wireless connection and wired ethernet connections are working through the router correctly. I have access to the Internet, etc. However, I cannot connect through the wireless connection to the VPN. The VPN client says "connecting", and then times out. I can ping the VPN access server.

VPN works properly over the wired connection (!!). VPN also works over the wireless connection to the same router from a different computer (running RH9). So I believe the cause is some incongruency between BCM4309 / ndiswrapper / Cisco VPN client.

Thanks for the help
