Check out this error message

Hi all,
Couldnt find anything on google for this, maybe you can help? I have managed to install madwifi (from a tarball: madwifi-20050127.tgz) so it was just posted on the download site today, I am assuming this is the newest version I can get. So I ran make and make install, re-booted the machine, and lo and behold, the install new harware screen comes up and states that there is a new network device, atheros chipset balh balh blah, so I go thru that setup, and when the boot resumes I get this message regarding the network card (which is a D-Link DWL-AG530, by the way)

ath_pci device eth0:1 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.

anyone know what I can do to correct this issue? thanks in advance.

alright. I got it to init, but here's the thing with the AG530 card from d-link, this si where a file needs to be edited, and I saw a script for it somewhere once a long time ago and now I cant find it. If anyone knows where the script is, or knows how to fix this directly, I will love you forever!

here it is:

ath_hal: module license 'Proprietary' taints kernel.
ath_hal: 0.9.12.14 (AR5210, AR5211, AR5212)
wlan: 0.8.4.5 (EXPERIMENTAL)
ath_rate_onoe: 1.0
ath_pci: 0.9.4.12 (EXPERIMENTAL)
ath%d: unable to collect channel list from hal; regdomain likely 18 country code 0
ath_pci: driver unloaded
ath_rate_onoe: unloaded
wlan: driver unloaded
ath_hal: driver unloaded

Thanks to anyone that can help.
