Centrino again....

i have a problem bringing up the eth1...

when i typed iwconfig, the following shown

eth1 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"" Nickname:"linux"
Mode:Managed Channel:0 Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00
Bit Rate=0kb/s Tx-Power=0 dBm
Retryn RTS thr=2304 B Fragment thr:2332 B
Encryption keyff

sit0 no wireless extensions.

when i typed # iwconfig eth1 mode Managed

then an error shown:
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :

when i type ifconfig eth1 up....no response....

do i need to input the ESSID first or something...to bring up the mini pci card???

thanks

It is already in managed mode. all you should have to do at that point is perhaps
ifup eth1
why is it not showing up as eth0? At any rate, then type
lynx http://www.linuxquestions.org
to check if you are connected to the internet
