centos wireless configuration

I am trying to configure my CentOS server to use the wireless card via command line. I am wanting to use the ifcfg-wlan0 (wlan1 in my case) to connect to the wireless network in network manager. My router uses wpa and wpa_supplicant hasn't been working lately. Whenever I restart the network daemon, It tells me that there is no link detected even though I specified it to use dhcp when starting and that I have given it the essid and passcode. No website clearly explains how to do this since it turns out that everyone uses NetworkManager when it comes to wireless anything.

My main purpose is that I want to make a permanent bridge connection and the only way to do that is to use the network daemon and NetworkManager doesn't have a bridging tool (as far as I know) that makes the bridge permanent. I need some help with this one. Help is greatly appreciated.

Hi:

I'm not good with servers; baronobeefdip, sorry.
But I did find a few things. Aside from that maybe installing wireless-tools might help?

I (think) you need 'bridge-utils'and a brctl utility too. (guessing)
