Can connect to Internet but can't PING any address

really weird problem --SUSE beta both beta 3 and beta 4 -- NDISWRAPPER with Linksys WPC54g card on laptop works fine for connecting to Internet -- But I can't PING or access anything else on the network ???

PING just sits there --doesn't return any reply --Internet access works fine. (Going through a router)

Any ideas

(this is the OPPOSITE of the normal problem where you can't get on to the internet)

Do you have an iptables firewall going? If so, post the script you use to set it up. Additionally, your router could be blocking ICMP, though that is unlikely. Can you ping localhost?

found the answer

dhcpcd changes /etc/resolv.conf

Changed /etc/sysconfig/network/dhcp to MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF_DYNAMICALLY=no
