Can't associate with my access point

I'm using Ubuntu 6.06 on my laptop. I'm trying to associate it with my access point using wpa_supplicant. It was working earlier, but now it's not (perhaps because I was fooling around with wpa_supplicant earlier trying to get it to work with WPA2, but then I gave up and reverted back to WPA). Anyways. . .

When I run 'wpa_supplicant -iwlan0 -dd -c/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf -Dwext' I get:

Code:
Initializing interface 'wlan0' conf '/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf' driver 'wext' ctrl_interface 'N/A'

My wpa_supplicant.conf file is fine. I set it back to the way it was before I started experimenting with WPA2:

Code:
network={
        ssid="Boozin_and_Pranks_11g"
        proto=WPA
        key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
        #psk="mypassword"
        psk=mypasswordinhex
}
So what am I doing wrong? Is there some module running that shouldn't be running? 'lsmod | grep ieee802' gives me:

Code:
ieee80211              38952  1 ipw3945
ieee80211_crypt         6528  1 ieee80211
ieee80211_1_1_13       39880  0
ieee80211_1_1_13_crypt     7040  1 ieee80211_1_1_13
Thanks for any help.

already solved?

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem with the AP. Did you already solved it somehow? Please let us (me) know, I would really appreciate any help.
