can't get wireless signal in some rooms

ya ok this really doesn't have anything to do with linux, so mods lock / delete if you see fit.

router is a Dlink DI-614+. card is an Intel Pro 2200 802.11 g mPCI in my laptop running debian 3 w/ 2.6.6 kernel.

currently i can get a signal upstairs where the router is, in certain rooms downstairs, but when i go in my room (figures) and a few other places downstairs i lose the signal.

yes i've tried moving the router and antennas around. i'm wondering if you guys know of any tricks to boost the signal.

thanks for any advice

you can always put a second router downstairs :-D but seriously you can get a wireless signal booster, put it downstairs where you get the stronges singa;l, ti shoudl then allow the rest of downstairs toget signal. that is of cource if you do not use lead based paint or some kind of heavy-metal insulation that can block or skew the signal :-P
