Can't find and networks to connect to on fedora core 5

I used ndiswrapper in order to install the driver for my wireless card (Broadcom). Now I have the wireless button on my laptop flashing but I can not seem to find any networks (there should be a few in addition to mine being that I live in an apartment complex). I know it is not the network itself, I have 2 windows xp machines connected to it.

If I bring up KWiFiManager, it has a green bar for connection. If I scan for networks it first pops up with "Unable to perform the scan. Please make sure the executable "iwlist" is in your $PATH".
But then it comes up with another box saying, "The scan is complete but no networks were found".

If I disconnect my cable for the internet and ping 127.0.0.1 it is successful.

What should I try to do now in order to connect to the network?
If there is any more info you need just let me know and I'll get it as soon as I can for you.

Thanks for your help.
