Can't configure wlan0 in Slack 10.2
I recently installed Slackware 10.2 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. It has a built-in wifi card, but as I'm not really sure what the make of it is, so I've been trying to use a USB "SMC Eazy-G" card instead.
From what I've garnered from one LQ post (forum won't let me provide link) , this card should work well with ndiswrapper. This is all I have done so far:
$ ndiswrapper -i [driver]
$ ndiswrapper -d [address] [driver]
$ ndiswrapper -m
It loads the driver and everything...the problem is, for some reason it seems there is no link to a wlan0 interface on my computer.
ifconfig brings up lo...but no wireless interface.
Maybe there is something huge I am overlooking, or maybe I just don't know how to go about this exactly :-/. Do I have to add the link manually, or am I going about this the completely wrong way? Feedback greatly appreciated :-d.
P.S., I have hotlinks enabled.
