I have a similar card WPN511, which automatically gets detected with backtrack3. Which chipset does your card have?
Can you show us the output of iwconfig?

Although I havent dealt with the Marvel chipset, but I believe you would need to install ndiswrapper first.
Do
Quote:

apt-get install ndiswrapper
then a
Quote:

modprobe ndiswrapper
Then get your Netgear CD and find the .inf (driver) file, use it.
Quote:

ndiswrapper -i driver.inf
Hope this helps.

there should be sys and a inf file. Just put the cd in the cdrom and do something like this.
Quote:

ndiswrapper -i /media/cdrom/netgear/driver.inf

Cards for backtrack & Ubuntu

I have 5 Panasonic laptops 4 cf-48's and 1 cf-50..Right now I am running backtrack3 live CD on the CF-50 as I type this.. None of the 2wire cards lit up (hermes I-chipset) ,the bufflo card (Marvel chipset) a no go ,the lucenet Orinoco Silver card didn't light up either..BUT!!!! The D-link G650 AirPlus (Atheros chipset)did light up..But wouldn't connect. I googled (backtrack3 cards)and looked around and found instructions to get it connected.. #1
bring up the shell (command line)
bt ~# ifconfig ath0 ifup (enter)
bt ~# dhcpcd ath0 (enter) and bang!! I got the net.. I am new to back track and just teaching myself..But that is what I read to do and it worked.. As far as Ubuntu all the cards mentioned above fire right up in all versions of Ubuntu so far..Linux is the Bomb!!!!!
