Fusspils LQ Newbie Registered: Apr 2005 Posts: 25 Rep:	Atheros WIFI card monitor mode Monitor mode seems to work for me but the problem I have is that it always creates another interface with a higher number. wlanconfig ath create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode monitor ath1 It says ath1 but if I do an iwconfig i get this.... ath12 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"" Nickname:"" Mode:Monitor Channel:0 Access Point: Not-Associated Bit Rate:0 kb/s Tx-Power:17 dBm Sensitivity=1/1 Retryff RTS thrff Fragment thrff Encryption keyff Power Managementff Link Quality=0/70 Signal level=-96 dBm Noise level=-96 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 As you can see I am up to ath12!! I would like it to stay at ath1. Where am I going wrong??
