XXXX/XXXXX/wifi/Module# modprobe rt2500
modprobe: Can't locate module rt2500

This what i get when i try to {modprobe rt2500} i can {make} and then {make install} in the module directory but it will not let me get passed the install instructions at modprobe. same goes for rt2400. i have tried and tried to research it but nothing comes up with something thats eems to help.
i get the same message when i try to modprobe an earlier version with rt2400.
dont really know what is going on with it. tried several thinsg. i have slackware 10.1 w/kernel 2.4.29 if its relevant. im sort of a noob. i have a freind is was helping me with this project but we are both stumped at this point. i decided to go outsourcing for more help. anything posted is greatly appreciated. thanx linux world.
