Well, it's been a quite a while since you posted this and I hope you've resolved it by now but if not...

www.linuxant.com

buy driverloader, it's a one time 20 dollar charge it is WELL worth it, works like a charm on my slackware box

Smile Wireless on suse 9.1

I had the same problem with my Fujitsu NB.
I found that the builtin wifi was a Broadcom chipset the same as the Lyncsys WPC54G.
I have been using ndiswrapper withe Windoz driver with little trouble.
I did have to put wlan0 in the /etc/sysconfig/kernel MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT=wlan0 to get the driver to load.
You might try this. Ndiswrapper is on the distro for 9.1.

Agreed, jtmillard. ndiswrapper seems to be the only way to go. You could also edit the file /etc/modprobe-preload
Just add a lline at the end containing ndiswrapper
This will (supposedly) load and activate the ndiswrapper module before the iwconfig settings are loaded.

I just got my linksys card working on SUSE 9.1, I did a search for wlan in YaST and downloaded the available drivers, and then installed the card using the network section in YaST, it gave it an orinoco driver that seems to be working fine. I had to set the gateway using the route add gw command.
