802.11G Desktop Wifi Card Suggestions
I bought a WMP54G and the card itself is defective so while I'm waiting for it to be returned to linksys and all that wonderful stuff, I'm looking for decent cards that don't require ndiswrapper. Are there any suggestions for cards and revisions? (How do you even tell the revision from looking at the box?)
Thanks, f. |
I have that same card but could use some help on getting it to work with ndiswrapper, im a newb to all this and im runnning Fedora Core 5

Go here:

Get cards based on the broadcom chipset. Apparently kernel 2.6.17 has a Linux driver for broadcom wireless chipsets.

Or the intel ipw2200 series which has a correct driver, provided by intel and didn't need a reverse engeneering.
A friend has the ralink 2500, he's very happy with it. A pcmcia card for less than 30 euros that has everything, even packet injection. |
