Question 802.11b PCI drivers


Could anyone give me a list of some 802.11b wireless PCI cards that are compatible with Linux (I am using fedora linux), and where I can find the drivers???

is a good start. Also, you're looking for any cards based on prism2/2.5/3, orinoco, cisco (anything), atmel if you just want it to work out of the box with a stock fedora kernel, core 1 was 2.4.22? actually then atmel you would have to grab from sourceforge. There are a bunch more, check the list, post back with what you're curious about.

Things to avoid: anything realtek, admtek, broadcom or acx100 based.

802.11g is of course backwards compatable, and a PrismGT or Atheros card is also supported, by drivers that are on sf.net too...

That was of course all in chipsets, as for end manufacturer like D-Link or Linksys or Netgear, I would recommend Netgear. They have NEVER changed the chipset in the cards without also changing the model number. Doesn't sound like too big of a hastle, but to date there have been 5 versions of the D-link DWL-650, with 3 entirely different chipsets.
