Hey all:

I have a 3com wireless PCMCIA card in a IBM Thinkpad with Redhat 9 (latest updates from up2date). My gateway is a Linksys Cable/DSL Wireless B ver 2.

The intergrated NIC was found during the installation and works fine; however, the wireless card was not found.

I'm still very new to linux, and simply don't know where to start. I understand that the PCMCIA service must be active, but where and how to I obtain and install drivers for this device? Is there a generic wireless package that would allow me to get this device working?

you can get pcmcia source either from the project page on sourceforge (google for it), or maybe you can get the binary rpms' for it from some rpm site. along with it get the "wireless-tools" package - you'll need it for ur wireless interface. (maybe you already have it - see if "iwconfig" is present by typing it in a terminal.)
