[ask] my wireless device suddenly got missing until now
Dear,
I have using linux fedora 13 from last month, and for internet, i've always using wifi. but from 2 days ago, suddenly i can't connect to my wireless router. which is usually i connect automaticaly since the boot up the first thing that I do is to click the connection icon in the upper right of my desktop to get my wireless connection get connected again, but the things that i got is, the list of my connections doesn't contain any wireless connection! i think that my wireless router is broken or somewhat. my wireless router using DHCP for its IP allocation. so I try to shutdown my laptop and go with windows 7, and from that, I get my wireless connection. So I assume that my linux fedora is the one that can't get wireless connection and the problem doesn't lies on my wireless router. i try to use ifconfig to see my wlan0, but in ifconfig, i cannot see wlan0 there. from desktop, I go to system>preference>network connections>wireless (which I haven't use til this time) and in there i didn't see any list in there i try again to go to system>administration>network configuration>devices. in there, i see that the wlan0 is inactive. while i get the wlan0 doubleclicked, and i go to hardware device>bind to mac address, I can't use probe button! and the textbox for it is empty.. (in eth0, it is filled by mac address of eth0) I try to use iwconfig that I read in internet, and i get output like this: [root@monlinux etc]# iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. pan0 no wireless extensions. then I try another command that I get from internet, that is lspci, and I see wireless device: 03:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01) but I don't know if the atheros is up or not. so in the end, I assume that the wireless device maybe is undetected by linux fedora.. but just maybe.. Am I right? how to get me out from this matter? Thanks for the help.. |
