xen paravirtualization and kernel numbers

Hiya all

This is a question concerning the use of Xen with paravirtualization (because my computer sadly doesn't have the virtualization-friendly chipsets). If I have a Dom0 with kernel 2.6.20 say, do the DomU kernels need to have a number 2.6.20 or less also?

As an example, if I use a xen hypervisor and xen-modified kernel from Debian Lenny (which is a year or two old) as my Dom0, will I still be to incorporate the latest version of Ubuntu's Lucid Lynx as a DomU?
