vmware-vdiskmanager command not found VMWare ESX
Hello All,
I see in the forum description that VMWare questions are allowed hence asking here. I am in need to extend the HDD capacity for a CentOS VM. I am unable to extend the size using vSphere client. Hence wanting to do it using command vmware-vdiskmanager. But it gives an error Command not found. What am I doing wrong? That command works fine on workstation. |
What is the issue you have while increasing space through vCenter?
|
The option is greyed out and does not allow to increase the space. This specific VM has been created using a VM image and not using the vSphere client.

You may want to download and install vmware-vdiskmanager from
https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/g...Group=VDDK-1-2 The other important thing, even if you have vmware-vdiskmanager command, you will need to poweroff the VM and increase the disk size using this command. |
Yes, I know I need to power off the VM if VM tools are not installed. That's not where the issue is. Issue is why is that command not found on ESXi server?
