vmware-vdiskmanager command not found VMWare ESX

Hello All,

I see in the forum description that VMWare questions are allowed hence asking here.
I am in need to extend the HDD capacity for a CentOS VM. I am unable to extend the size using vSphere client. Hence wanting to do it using command vmware-vdiskmanager. But it gives an error Command not found.
What am I doing wrong? That command works fine on workstation.

What is the issue you have while increasing space through vCenter?

The option is greyed out and does not allow to increase the space. This specific VM has been created using a VM image and not using the vSphere client.

You may want to download and install vmware-vdiskmanager from

https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/g...Group=VDDK-1-2

The other important thing, even if you have vmware-vdiskmanager command, you will need to poweroff the VM and increase the disk size using this command.

Yes, I know I need to power off the VM if VM tools are not installed. That's not where the issue is. Issue is why is that command not found on ESXi server?
