VirtualBox PUEL reverts to OSE after Ubuntu upgrade
HISTORY:
Originally installed OSE not realising I needed PUEL to use USBs. Then installed PUEL. I'm sure that I replaced OSE by PUEL somehow, but can't remember or find a reference to how this might have been done. PUEL worked fine. NOW: Upgraded Ubuntu to 9.10. PUEL has disappeared from System Tools and OSE is in Accessories. This does not support USB, so is useless to me. PROBLEM: How to replece OSE with PUEL without having to re-install all the programs, printers etc that are installed on the XP guest. |
Remove the OSE version and install the PUEL version. There should be no need to change the WXP installation but you may have to re-create the WXP virtual machine stored in ~/.VirtualBox/Machines/<name of virtual machine>. Prudent to make a copy of that directory before the remove and install.
