This will get you started, but you got me to thinking about this entire partition perspective that I have been hung up on for so long. So I inserted my gparted and returned my HD back to its default state, NTFS only
Then I went to windows installed 4.1.2 not OSE then loaded ubuntu as a guest on windows host. Russ you created a monster

An after thought, with win as host and Ubuntu as guest or any guest for that matter is there any way increase size of guest viewing screen
I feel there is not but hey does not hurt to ask. Using 4.1.2

I've never used Windows as a host, so I'm afraid I can't answer that one.
Play with it, you may find a way.
