Virtual box guest additions


I get this error when trying to install virtual box guest additions.

Unable to insert the virtual optical disk. /usr/share/virtualbox/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso into the machine mint 18.

NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)

Can any show me how to fix please.

Hi jefro. I now get this error.

Implementation of the USB 2.0 controller not found!
Because the USB 2.0 controller state is part of the saved VM state, the VM cannot be started. To fix this problem, either install the 'Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack' or disable USB 2.0 support in the VM settings.
Note! This error could also mean that an incompatible version of the 'Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack' is installed (VERR_NOT_FOUND).

Please provide the following information:

. Your host system (inc. version).

. Your guest OS (inc. version).

. Your version of VirtualBox.

. Whether or not you have installed the latest Extension pack.

With all due respect, actinide, you've been here long enough to know that you have to provide adequate background info if folk are going to be able to help you.
