virt-manager, libvert folder missing?

I did have virt-manager working at one point but like a moron i tried to update it from the https://virt-manager.org/ site. I downloaded, extracted, read the readme & install text files, ran sudo python setup.py install.

It did install the latest version of virt-manager but it did not run.

I did not know how to remove this installation as i now had 2 versions installed.

I uninstalled the old version via apt remove & re-installed it.

However now it wont run either

cannot parse CPU map file: /usr/share/libvirt/cpu_map.xml

Also looks like the whole /usr/share/libvirt folder has gone, How do i get it back please?

Can anyone help me clean this mess up please , thx.

Ok , so i did manage to get the old package version of virt-manager (Version: 1:1.3.2-3ubuntu1.16.04.4) working by re-installing all of the dependencies again but then today tails (which is what im wanting to do some testing on) had an update. I updated my guest tails and now it does not work again, the screen is all messed up in all sorts of ways, it does not stretch properly and nothing on the desktop shows up until i mouse-over it to refresh it, its a real messy GUI desktop. I tried deleting that tails guest and re-installing but it was the same. So i could only assume i needed to do the virt-manager update after all.

So iv tried to update virt-manager from the site again (ver 1.4.3) but it still just will not work

When i try to add a new guest it has this error

error: 'vmmconnection' object has no attribute 'is_test_conn'

So the old version of tails (3.1) works fine on virt-manager 1.3.2 but not the latest version of tails (3.2).
Nothing works on virt-manager 1.4.3
I have to use this virtualisation because i need to test with tails persistence.

please assist,

Thx.

Iv gone back to virt-manager 1.3.2 but it just will not work properly with tails 3.2. Tails 3.1 works absolutely fine.

I am really at a loss and dont know where else to ask.

Below: tails 3.1 and 3.2 separate guest installations created in exactly the same way.
