Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Hi , I have kubuntu installed on a virtual machine. It works fine and I have used usb devices many times in it. The usb was automatically detected when I connect it .
But from a few days the usb is being detected by the virtual machine , and when I try to mount the usb it says "cannot mount the data traveller".
P.S :My usb is functioning well as it mounts well on windows 7.
It might help if you told us what virtualisation software you are using - vmware, virtualbox, another?
Does the Kubuntu guest report "cannot mount the data traveller"? If so, it's almost certainly not a problem with the virtualisation of USB, but with the file system on the usb device.
Please post the exact error message - and the output of lsusb with the device connected.
