USB 3.0 in virtualbox BUT not in vmware player

Hello,

I noticed that vmware player doesn't have usb 3.0 support. Is this because I am using a free version of vmware or do I need to upgrade to a vmware workstation or better? Do they have usb 3.0 support?

Virtualbox has usb 3.0 support and it's free.

Thank you for your time

From a look at the VMware website (https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/mi...rnalId=2041591), it appears that USB3 is in fact available for certain host/guest configurations.

Have you tried contacting VMware or asking on their forum?

What -host- OS, guest OS, and what version of VMplayer? (I assume host has USB 3.0 hwd)
(this OLD v4 p.75 doesn't!)
