Trying to run KVM from a Remastersys LiveCD

I have just successfully set up KVM passthrough with my GTX 750TI.
I patched the 3.18.0 Kernel with ACS / i915 and followed this guide:http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2262280.
The Virtual Machine uses Windows 10 and works flawlessly.

Now I wanted to take it one step further and use remastersys, in order to create a Live CD of that system, to be able to run such gpu passed Virtual Machines from a Live CD.

After creating and booting the LiveCD, I get the following error when I run the script, that initiates the virtual machine:

Code:
vfio: error no iommu_group for device
I have realized, that remastersys does not include the grub.cfg in /boot/grub/grub.cfg , since it uses isolinux as a bootloader.
This could be the reason for the problem, seeing as the error code relates to the iommu parameters missing in the boot config.

Is there a way around using the grub.cfg, while getting the passthrough working?
Or maybe someone knows how to force grub and the grub.cfg on the remastersys iso?

This has been sitting here for a while so I guess I'll at least reply.

Kind of a lot going on and I have really no idea why you are making it so complex to be honest.

Why aren't you using a live usb or real install to a usb instead?

It may be possible to use grub on a cd. Just not popular.

You may be able to simply make a live cd manually instead of using the remastersys. Knoppix pages of old had a complete how to on it and many other budding live cd's followed with their own recipes.

Might look at SuseStudio.com and create this out of OpenSuse.

Unfortunately I don't know about this. "vfio: error no iommu_group for device" I assume an issue with kernel/cpu is all.

I don't know anything about the error message you posted even after doing some online searching so I can't help with that.

Since you are using remastersys, you must be using either the Ubuntu or Debian or one of their derivatives. The developer for remastersys gave it up, I think about two years ago and some people tried to continue it under a different name. Can't recall what it was but the last I read, they gave it up also. The last version of Ubuntu it was expected to work on was 12.04 although I have seen posts at the Ubuntu forums claiming that it worked on versions up to 14.04. So this is one big problem.

I assume you don't actually mean a Live CD because I'm sure the iso you would create with remastersys would be considerably larger than what would fit on a CD.

It is possible to create an iso which will boot with either Grub Legacy or Grub2 but as jefro indicates it is not popular, at least not used on most Linux Live/Install media currently.

I'm not really sure what your end goal is, to able to run this on multiple machines?

If you want a remastered system and are not tied to Ubuntu/Debian, PCLinuxOS has something called mylivecd which will do this but only from an installed PCLinuxOS. Good luck!
