Suse-Leap/Tumbleweed vBox USB settings discrepancy

I have vBox set up under both Suse Leap and Tumbleweed. Each has its own settings folder in a vbox parent folder using a common disk image:

~/vBox/Lp
~/vBox/tw
~/vBox/vBox.vdi

The setup works well and it has saved me from two separate installations.

The problem is that the USB detection/setting is not the same in both cases. I have no idea how this came about but it previously led me on a wild goose chase not realizing that the settings could be different for the same hardware in Leap VS. Tumbleweed. More specifically,

Tumbleweed USB Settings say:
"USB Controller: OHCI, EHCI
Device Filters: 1 (1 active)"

Leap USB Settiongs say:
"USB Controller: OHCI
Device Filters: 1 (0 active)"

The USB device I'm after is a guitar USB-2 effects board.

It does NOT come up under Leap where the detailed settings-dialog USB page lists only a USB-1.1 Controler as an option to check (for the same Asus Crosshair-IV mobo).

Under TW the same dialog USB page lists both USB-1.1 & 2.0 as checkbox options.

As I said this had me running in circles until I found out the unexplainable settings difference. Now that I have nailed it I'd like to kill it. Is there any way I can rectify the problem by editing some configs or is it wired-in by virtue of Leap/TW differences?

TIA

I assume you are running VB 6?

USB 2/3 is enabled by installing the extension pack. I dont know why the settings are different between the two guests. You can only change settings when the guest is off. Have you updated VB recently with guests running? Have you restarted leap?

You can attach a USB device to only one system at a time.

One system at a time is fine (can't run the board under Linux anyway)

Yes it's v-6.1 and you're right. I had DL'd the extension pack and it was sitting there in the ~/vBox/shares directory (not cited in my original posting) but after installing it for TW I forgot to install for Leap as well.

Thank you.
