sharing files and connecting to usb camera Virtualbox

I'm using fedora 17 and have Windows 7 installed using Virtualbox. I just upgraded the system, and upgraded to a new kernel and a new version of Virtualbox, I think 4.2(.2?), and installed the new guest additions that came with all of that. I'm trying to transfer photos taken with a Canon camera, and could do that by either having Windows recognize the camera, or transferring from the Pictures directory of Fedora. I've found instructions for the camera that say to turn it on, go to settings in VB and select the camera, start Windows and choose the camera from the usb list in Devices in VB, but Windows says it was unable to install it.

Sharing files looks worse. Every guide I've found assumes a Windows host and Linux guest, and I'll have to somehow input the file path to the Photos directory also, and I'm drawing a blank as to how to find and name that path.

I asked this same question in Fedora Forums, and they steered me to not only guest Additions in VB but also Extension Packs from VB, which I hadn't done. Also adding that I could ad the /home/username/Photos file path in the Settings/shared files of VB.

Works OK now, so I'd say it's solved.
