Running SL 6.2 VM ISSUE: 'Monitor: Unknown' and max screen resolution of 1280 x 768
Hello. I'm running Scientific Linux 6.2 VM local with an Intel HD Graphic Family driver. I'm running the recommended Resolution setting of 1920 x 1080 outside of SL 6.2. However, within SL 6.2, System > Preferences > Display a) shows 'Monitor: Unknown,' b) the max permitted Resolution setting is 1280 x 768, and c) the 'Detect Monitors' button does nothing.
A better resolution is essential as I am running linux executables that produce displays not fully visible in the terminal window using the current maximum resolution setting of 1280 x 768.
Appreciate anyone's assistance in this matter.
