Question RHEV- cant connect P2V client to conversion server

Hi guys,

I am working on RHEV 3. I am trying to do the P2V.
I have a P2V client (dell laptop) and the conversion server (dell Desktop system). Cable connectivity is there.

I have created a bootable CD of P2V.iso. I booted the P2V client (dell laptop) from the CD But in the 2nd window (in which hostname, username and password is asked), i am getting the error message "Connection failed: connection refused".

I dont understand, why i am getting this message. because all the systems are connected by cable wire.

Any idea can help.
Thanks.

Now, my problem has been solved.
I just had to give the IP address instead of the Hostname in the Conversion server's virt-v2v.conf file.
May be some DNS resolution problem was there.

But thanks to you for your kind help.

Glad you found out your problem!

I had a similar problem with RHEV-M where the VM wouldn't migrate to another server. The issue? the DNS for the Hypervisor was wrong...

Just thought I'd share.
