Nothing we can help you WITH...you give no useful details. What qemu are you running? How many other machines are on the same host? What do your system logs say? Can you get in over the network when this happens???

And again...you are using RedHat Enterprise...that means, you should be paying for it, and as such, have access to RedHat support. Have you called them?

If you downloaded it, then the site where you downloaded it FROM, has documentation. Read it. Also, there are readme files IN the file you extracted...read those. They will tell you how to do the installation.

And AGAIN...you are using RHEL6. CALL REDHAT SUPPORT since you are paying for it with your RHEL subscription.

I almost decided to call as you said, but finally i removed i thought i should check my hardware, because i'm using 2GB DDR2, if i inserted another 1GB DDR2 with same speed and brand, my pc boots and shutsdown exactly at login screen of rhel6, 6 months ago it used to work but not now. so i cleaned every slot and re inserted cpu, now working fine.

thank you very much for your reply anyways i decied to to buy new one. my doubt is i have
AMD athlon 64bit dual corecpu, (bought 3 years ago)
2 gb ram
260gb & 160 gb hdds (sata)
current main board usb ports, slots, are seems not working fine. i want to buy new board which is best for my current cpu (AM2 socket)

Please tel me which one is good (i can't take decision from all the availale ones )give me best one and economy. i use virtualization and runs robustly.

sorry i forgot, since you are from ALABAMA and i'm in INDIA, i think it's better to suggest brand rather than price. AUSUS, GYGABYTE or MERCURY, not INTEL bec'se obviously it will be expensive than these

Thank you very much.

I think it's better for you to make the decisions for your hardware yourself. YOU know how much money you have to spend, and what your end goals are, and what suppliers you can buy from. And you also need to BUY your copy of RHEL, instead of using an unregistered version. If this is for your COMPANY, then THEY need to pay for it, period. Otherwise, you will have ZERO security updates/bugfixes/hardware patches, and will have problems in the future. Buy the most horsepower and memory you can afford, and DON'T just buy a new motherboard. If your current MOBO has aged...so has everything ELSE in your system, as is evidenced by your DDR swaps. Do you think your power supply and other devices haven't aged as well?

If you are in a professional environment, working at a company, then get in a supported, current configuration...don't cobble together a server from various parts, and run an unregistered OS on it, and expect to get good results.

And it would have helped had you mentioned your hardware was suspect at the start.

you are right, i was thinking the same . i'll buy new PC. rather than mixing old parts and new parts. It's for my home. not for office. by the way you said register with redhat. I really don't get it. What is open source then. if i want to use really open source which distro is free. Don't mistake me. i really don't understand the differnce.

The topic has been covered on here numerous times. RedHat (and SuSE) Enterprise versions can be USED for free. What you do NOT get is updates/bugfixes/patches/etc. If you don't plan on paying for RHEL, then (again) you should not be using it. Without the updates and access to the online repositories, what will you do when a security patch is released? Or when you want to install software, for which you don't have a library/update that's needed? The answer is: you'll have an insecure system, that doesn't run what you need. RHEL and SLES are meant for enterprises/companies that pay for support, and have systems that are certified to run them. They are still freely available, and have source code for them...but you pay for SUPPORT, not for the distro itself.

If you NEED RHEL, then load CentOS or Scientific Linux...they are 99.8% IDENTICAL to RHEL, and will function the same, but they're community supported. If you're just learning linux, or wanting to use it, though, they're not good choices. They're made for SERVERS...not consumer hardware. Servers don't typically have sound cards, bluetooth, wifi, or any of the other stuff that is on a laptop or desktop that you'd use at home. Load Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE, or any other distro. Check distrowatch for a whole list, but those are some of the big players.
