Resolution Issue
Hai!
I have an issue I am VERY confused by... I installed Mandriva Linux right, in VMWare. I set the resolution to what the VM screen is (I dont run anything full screen) , 1440x900, and for whatever reason, when it boots up and starts X, the resolution goes WAY outside the VM window. Its as though its like, doubling the resolution I tell it! Even more weird though, is that it wont change out of this state even when I change the X resolutions settings, EXCEPT if I select 1024x768. then it runs at, 1024x768. Okay but even MORE weirdness... i can select to change the resolution to 1440x900 for my current user session (KDE) and it works perfectly great! It fills my VM window without going over and runs fine! I hope that all made sense.. i am looking to discover why this happening and how to fix it :( |
Have you installed VMware Tools?

I had this same Mandriva installed before and it worked fine.. resolution and everything was flawless but when I installed VMWare tools, it got goofed up. So instead of trying to fix that, i just deleted the VM and reinstalled. This new installation is having the resolution issue now without VM Tools being installed. |
