Qemu-kvm memory and swap problem

Hi, i have a weird problem.

I use Qemu-kvm, have 2G ram on host, 1,5G free when booted.
I launch a 1G qemu relative image on host hd, based on a master image on nfs.

It eats all my ram, and it swaps a lot, but it should not. I should have 500M free, as usual.

Tried to use /dev/shm without success.

It never happened, and i just discovered it.

Well, using the cache=none option solved my problem although many questions left unanswered...

I've run KVM with "cache=none" on my servers for a while now but forget why. I picked up on it while on the Freenode #kvm IRC. I should take better notes!
