Problem in changing the resolution on fedora VM

Hi,

I've configured Fedora as a guest OS on the Vmware and installed the vmware tools.

When I tried to change the resolution using the options that are there in preferences.. it doesn't change at all.

I've also tried to re-intall the vmware-tools but id fails with an error "unsupported drivers" and doesn't allow me to change the resolution.

Also tried to edit the xorg.conf...but this file is not present in th /etc/X11 directory

If there are any other ways to change the resolution....that would be of great help.

Thanks in advance!!

Rgds,
Maggidis

Hi -

You're absolutely on the right track: you must install VMWare tools to get higher resolution in your VM. And that isn't necessarily trivial: congratulations on getting vmware tools working!

OK: so your next challenge is Xorg.conf. You're right: it isn't there by default. I don't know the rationale, but here's what you can do about it:

You might be home free at this point. If not, here are a few links:

'Hope that helps .. PSM

Thank you very much Paul!!! It worked.

Could you please let me know if there is any setting that needs to be changed to enable copy& paste between host and guest OS?

HOST: Windows Vista
Guest Fedora
