Exclamation not able to run kali linux on vmware


i am using loki eos on which i have installed vmware, but i am getting two errors while opening vmware.
1. i am getting below mentioned error in terminal.
(vmware-tray:12978): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "murrine",
2. i am getting below mentioned error while switching on kali linux on vmware.
Could not open /dev/vmmon: No such file or directory.
Please make sure that the kernel module `vmmon' is loaded.

Failed to initialize monitor device.

i have already tried installing murrine but this problem is still there, i have also tried upgrading the vmware in vein.
kindly help.

kali is mainly a LIVE operating system that "can" be installed to a drive

it is very CRAPPY!!!!!! on a VM
a lot of things might not work correctly

and BUY the offensive Security classes ( if you test in )

and READ A FEW TIMES THE FIRST TWO SECTIONS HERE

the problem is not only with kali linux, any virtual machine i play on vmware i get the same error.

The problem is with vmware because i tried installing other os on vmware but it returned the same error all the time, i tried reinstalling vmware but it was of no use...

If that solution does not work for you it will at least produce information that will be helpful in understanding your specific problem.

Thanks Jefro and Astrogeek that article was useful although i am getting following error after entering and confirming password for importing public key MOK.der...


Failed to enroll new keys

Well problem is solved now earlier i had not used the sudo command to import the public keys...thanks for the help.
