Network connection problem with centos7 and virtualbox

situation:
- I can ssh to the vm on a 192.168.1.N address over the bridged connection
- I can't ping 192.168.1.1 (my router/gateway) from the vm. I also can't ping google.com or reach the internet.
- I can ping 192.168.1.2 and all other devices connected to the router. How is this even possible if I can't ping the router?
- I can't ssh to the natted 10. address in the vm.

I tried with only a bridged, and also with only a natted adapter. There was zero connectivity with the nat configuration. With only bridged, it was the same situation as indicated above.

box os: win7
vm os: centos minimal 7.0.1406
virtualbox: 4.3.12 r93733
- Note: I tried installing the current version of virtualbox, 4.3.14, on my box, but when I tried starting the vm that works fine on 4.3.12, it throws a fatal exception and won't even try to start under 4.3.14. So I uninstalled .14 and went back to .12.

Virtualbox network config:

-adapter1
--bridged
--set to local ethernet connection
--adapter type: Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM)
--promiscuous: allow all
--cable connected: checked
-adapter2
--NAT
--same adapter as bridged
--cable connected: checked

os network configuration:

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-enp0s3
note: I don't know why version 7 doesn't create eth0? By default it made this enp name. I tried to change that in the setup, but it refused. I left it as was created by the install routine. You can see the value "name" below was changed to eth0.

Code:
TYPE=Ethernet
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
NM_CONTROLLED=no
DEFROUTE=yes
IPV4_FAILURE_FATAL=no
IPV6INIT=yes
IPV6_AUTOCONF=yes
IPV6_DEFROUTE=yes
IPV6_FAILURE_FATAL=no
NAME=eth0
UUID=fef3e2c8-b24e-435e-83d8-e6dec966a3d7
ONBOOT=yes
HWADDR=08:00:27:AE:96:59
PEERDNS=yes
PEERROUTES=yes
IPV6_PEERDNS=yes
IPV6_PEERROUTES=yes
I'm new to linux and vm's, so any guidance you can provide at all would be helpful. I can't seem to find anything useful on google. Also, because I am running minimal and I can't connect to the internet, I don't have apps like ifconfig/route/etc. and I can't install them with yum from a repository :/ There is probably a way to download the files and install manually, so if I need to provide information with those apps I'll figure out how to do that.

I haven't seen that command before. It looks like it's supposed to renew the dhcp lease perhaps? I have an ip address: 192.168.1.8, and I can hit the vm from the box that it is running on (where virtual box is installed) as well as all other boxes connected to my router. I just can't ping my ... oh ... I'm an idiot.

Thank you for your comment, this helped me realize how exceptionally dumb I am being right now. The problem is my router. I just got a new one and it denies all new machines to its access list, including wired connections. My old router only refused wireless connections. I didn't even think about that until just now. Thank you kind stranger
