Live media USB file

Dear friends, I'm new in this forum. I hope I'm posting my request in the right forum. I downloaded Live media usb.usb file from the official website, but I don't know how to use this extention (.usb) could anybody enlighten me in this matter please, thanks in advance.

never heard of it. You should have posted the exact file name with extenion inclused, along with the website address you got this from.

it should have an iso at the very least an img extension attched to it.
You should maybe bounce over to distrowatch and see what they have to offer you.

It is a Solaris base OS. soooo look out. Solaris is like Windows in respect that it thinks it is the most important OS in the world so it does not play nice with other OS's in getting it to dual boot. But that is Solairs.

For instructions regarding downloading, preparing and installing the images, please refer to the OpenIndiana Handbook.

If you look closer to the two types of downloads, one is iso and the other is usb. Select the live DVD not the LIVE USB download and try it again. Else read their how to install page to figure out that usb one.

I assume XML or alike, you may be able to install it in VM then swipe (copy) it out of wherever that OS keeps it then mod it to meet the requirements for Linux Mint login screen.
