KVM - official website confusing regarding kernel module

Hi

I am considering upgrading the kernel on my Slackware 64 to 2.6.32.

I also intend afterwards to compile and install KVM from source.

Should I enable the vanilla kernel KVM module while upgrading the kernel, or leave it deactivated? Will it become active when I compile KVM from source?

I hope you understand my question. I'm not 100% clear about whether a module needs to be pre-activated in the kernel before it can be upgraded by compiling the software I need. I'm also unsure if the KVM module in the vanilla 2.6.32 kernel is newer than the download posted on the KVM website itself.

You should build the KVM modules during kernel compile and use those. You can use the SlackBuild for "qemu-kvm" to get the userspace programs. I use the Slackware 13 -32 bit KVM modules that are shipped with the install CD/DVDs with "qemu-kvm".

Thanks Chuck. That helps to resolve the muddled questions I had.
