Kernel Panic/Crux 2.7 @VBox
Hello Everyone,
I just installed Crux 2.7 on VirtualBox, but when I detach the ISO of the installer and reboot, I get a Kernel Panic: http://www.img-share.net/thumbnail/27435cruxkp1.png A friend of mine who knows much more about Linux than me told me, that the module for the SATA-Controller is not compiled into the kernel. I looked up what controller it is (lspci), but I didn't really find it in the menu to compile the kernel (make menuconfig). Does anybody know a solution? |
Well, is it secret? If it's not, perhaps you can tell us what your sata controller is :-).
Make sure you have 'experimental drivers' accepted in one of the early menus, otherwise you won't see some drivers at all. I would compile in generic and whatever the drivers from the correct manufacturer. Your new one is hopefully just a rehash of old stuff. |

It's just the emulated conrtoller of VirtualBox: http://www.img-share.net/thumbnail/30290crux-lspci.png EDIT: About the experimental drivers... I don't really find this option |

About Experimental drivers, I didn't steer you very well General Setup --> Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers Of course, I don't know if you'll need them now. Intel stuff is fairly well supported. |
