Installing Fedora guests vm: Could not find an installable distribution

Hi, I'm trying to install Fedora 13 as a virtual machine, but failed. The host system is RHEL 5.4 Server with Xen. I have several other virtual machines already, but when it comes to Fedora, it always reports 'Could not find an installable distribution'.

Here are the details when creating the new VM thru GUI (virt-manager 0.6.1):

Virtualization Method: Paravirtualized
Install media: Network Install Tree (HTTP, FTP, or NFS)
OS Type/Variant: Generic/Generic
(also tried Linux/Fedora 12)
Installation Media URL: /var/ftp/pub/Fedora_13_x86_64_DVD/
(I had already `cp -r` the DVD disc content to the above location)
Storage: Block Device: /dev/sda10
(The partition is ready and empty, and partprobe'd)
Network: Shared Physical Device: peth0 (Bridge xenbr0)
Memory: 1024MB/1024MB
CPU: 1

and then it reports:
Code:
Unable to complete install 'exceptions.ValueError Could not find an installable distribution at '/var/ftp/pub/Fedora_13_x86_64_DVD/'
Traceback (most recent call last):

raise ValueError, _("Could not find an installable distribution at '%s'" %
ValueError: Could not find an installable distribution at '/var/ftp/pub/Fedora_13_x86_64_DVD/'
'
The same error occurs at installing Fedora 12 as VM too.

What do I need? Please. Thanks.

Whenever I install a vm I use the OS disc image I downloaded, and point virt-manager at that. It needs to be a bootable image, so copied files won't cut it, I don't think.
A network install needs to have a certain structure and meta files similar to a yum repo.

But I am using KVM not xen, so YMMV.

If you want to point the installer to a bunch of files, you'll still need something bootable, like the minimal boot.iso, and then the distribution files have to be accessible over network (http/nfs/ftp)

Thanks. It's solved.

virt-manager accepts the iso image instead of the files.

Are you saying you installed Fedora 13 as a VM on a RHEL 5.4 server using xen? Ive been trying to do the same(except using CentOS 5.5) But I've been getting errors. Did you use a special Fedora xen kernel? What steps did you do to install it? I was using the xm create command to make mine...
