Installing apps in VirtualBox

I have been struggling with installing additional apps in Virtualbox, before I give up completely and return to a Dual boot, thought I would ask the experts.
I have installed VB in my Ubuntu 10.10 setup and it works fine. I can access the internet and download some apps, no problem. But I wish to install MS Publisher to allow me to print my .pub files, but cannot work out how to access a CD for installation.
Could someone please take my hand (or nose) and lead me to the promised land?

In the bottom panel of the VM you have a little CD icon. Do a right-click on it and choose the line that begins with "host drive". Now insert your CD into your hosts drive and install your software.
I would recommend to have a look at the really good manual.

Agreed. On this occasion I am in a real hurry trying to play catch up.
Thanks for your help.
