Rep:
install old linux on qemu
just out of nostalgia i found an old redhat 6.2 iso and have been unsucessful so far at getting it to run under qemu
i get it as far as booting and kudzu recognizes the video card, probes it and detects what mode it needs to use
i even get it to boot with
linux vga=791 (and disable apic and apci)
but when Xconfigurator goes to test X11 and display the 'yes it's working' screen all i get is this http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/5720/qemu.jpg
something similar happened when i tried using the X based installer, windows rendered without title bars or text
any ideas
yes i know redhat 6.2 is ancient i was just trying for nostalgia's sake since redhat 6.2 was one of the first distributions i used on an intel platform
output of qemu --version
