Unhappy How can i install the vmware tool on my backtrack ??

May i get your help
I want to install the vmware tool in my Backtrack R3...and i came to http://www.backtrack-linux.orgwiki/i...ck_5_R2_.26_R3

I have an error when i follow the step..
root@bt:~# mkdir /mnt/cdrom; mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
mkdir: cannot create directory `/mnt/cdrom': File exists
mount: special device /dev/cdrom does not exist

my cdrom is not detected..
what do you think guys..that is the problem?? and how can i fixed it??

posting a correct link to the "guide" you are using would help GREATLY

one that works

do you actually have a old cdrom drive???
or is it a dvd/cd RW combo

NOTE: Our GNOME VMware image of BackTrack has VMware Tools installed by default.
and did you install THAT image ?

also BT was created BY security EXPERTS for use BY COMPUTER EXPERTS
there is not much in it that an average person can use ( and NOT be breaking the laws in most countries ) .

mkdir /mnt/cdrom; mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
you might want to break that up
but the error is telling you that a cdrom folder IS already in /mnt
and you do not have a cdrom device
