CentOS Virtualization, remote management
Hi guys,
I installed CentOS 5.4 with virtualization option selected. I have ssh enabled on the machine and can access remotely. It is loading a xen kernel. How do I start installing VMs on this machine. What is the management tool to manage it remotely? For windows, theres something called XenCentre but I guess it doesn't work with my setup. It needs the Xen hypervisor installed. I couldn't install the xen server hypervisor because the machine is 32 bit. |
Hi,
I managed to create and install vms with virt-install. Whats the best way to manage xen remotely? |
Hi,
I couldn't go further with the installation of vms. I'm stuck in "Configure TCP/IP" section. The host do not have DHCP running and entering the IP manually doesn't work. Please advise. |
Hi, guys
Could you please tell me how to give configure networking in the guest os during the installation. On the host there are a lot of interfaces like xenbr0, virbr0, vif0, peth0. The vibr0 has 192.168.122.1 IP address assigned to it. The host computer has a public IP assigned to it and I am usng ssh to access remotely. I cannot move forward with the installation because I am not able to configure IP for guest OS during the install. I have no idea on how the guest and host networking works on Xen. |
Hi guys,
I managed to move forward with the install. I found out that xen uses bridged network by default so I had to give another public IP to the guest on the same subnet as the host. I am learning a lot. |
