cat /proc/cpuinfo


Hi,

I'm wondering if the file cpuinfo is populated manually OR dynamically and with the BIOS help ?

What are you asking.
You didn't update it, so it wasn't manually. So .... ???

Everything under /proc is generated by linux kernel. For cpuinfo perhaps BIOS or more strongly cpuid cpu instructions are used to get details.

The /proc directory is a virtual filesystem that’s created dynamically by the kernel to provide access to certain types of hardware information and information about the running processes.
