camtasia under wine

I've been trying to check whether camtasia(http://www.techsmith.com/download/camtasiatrialthx.asp) is compatible with Ubuntu 9.10, at least while running under wine. ATM I seem to have no luck, as it crashes the moment it starts recording. Does anybody have experience with it under other virtualization software or an advice about configuring wine and/or Ubuntu to make it more stable? I need it specifically for work, so please don't recommend to me an open code program even if it is better.

The most recent entry in the AppDB also shows that it ran, but wouldn't record. Codeweavers also shows it as a no-go.

I'm guessing it's just one of those applications that wine can't currently handle. Unless you're really desperate and can afford to pay CodeWeavers directly to try to get it working, you'll probably have to look elsewhere. Probably your only other option is to try running it under Windows in a virtual machine.
