Tech Support for a School in Micronesia
 

We are experiencing some technical difficulties with a server here at Xavier High School Micronesia. We do not have qualified tech support. Ergo, a math teaching independent volunteer, myself, and a Jesuit scholastic are looking for someone with a little experience to help us get a squid proxy server to serve a couple dozen windows machines. (This system worked at some earlier date.)

Ordinarily, I would fumble about the internet until I found a similar situation and work it out on my own. Unfortunately, the internet is slow here and there is a distinct shortage of situations like ours.

Ideally, we would like to find someone willing to help the school out from time to time in the future as well. We figure that accumulated understanding of our situation will make life easier for everyone involved.

What OS does this "server" have (that you intend to have this squid proxy server on)?

I could help you out by doing the research and typing up a "recipe" to follow, if that would help you out?
Possibly even some screen-shots of the "recipe" sent to an email address that can print...?

Remote ssh in and do the work remotely?

There are options, but the first qualifier is what OS are you working with?
