New Online Programmer's Group - Join If You Are Interested

if you havnt already seen my thread on the newbie post,

i'm looking to see if i can find a group of newbies like myself who want to learn linux platform programming. i have no experience at all with programming and looking for people about the same level.

i find it easier to learn things within a group, learn of each others mistakes and give each other advice.. that kinda stuff and of course its going to be a laugh

was thinking meeting up together in a IRC chatroom

anyway if this interests you.. get in contact.. the more the better

this has nothing to do with LUG's, and you've already posted this once.

I renamed this one to make the title more informative and reported the post in Newbie for closure. So it's all tidy now.

to the OP,

you might also want to decide on which language you want to learn. this way you and potential friends are on the same page. I wouldnt want you to want to learn c++ but then someone else is thinking java, python, perl.

There is currently two of us, and we are now starting to arrange a meeting sometime next week to look over some of the basics and get things running, anyones more than welcome to come along. Even if your a programming pro and have a spare half a hour or so during next week, and would like to come and listen make sure we not teaching each other absolute crap. Or even better if you do have a free afternoon come and give us a quick tutorial?

all the meetings will be logged and hopefully posted on the website when its up, so any late joiners can get up to speed fairly fast

hope to hear from people soon

dont forget its aimed at newbies, there will be no risk of this going to fast for you

The irc can be done on any EFnet server (ie. irc.freenode.net). Thanks to the EFnet community we have this resource.
