You can use
less filename.zip
to view contents of zip file

emacs filename.zip
to open zip file and view contents

zipgrep "pattern" filename.zip

to find text inside zip file .

Also unzip and zip are the commands for extracting and zipping files.

But is this what u really want?

Cheers
Z

file-roller or gnozip if you want GUI.
zip and unzip if you use command-line.
