I think that most of you know zeroshell , actually it has nice features and its performance is good also ...
but the problem with Zeroshell that its file system is strange ...
I wanted to do some modifications to its Web Interface to make it more simple but i could not do that , because it is read only system ( CDFS - ISO6990 ) .
even for the CF/USB image makes two three partitions , one for Grub and the other for the Zeroshell System as CDFS partition and the last one for the database ..
also I tried to install the Live CD to the HDD as the following :
1- make a FAT16 Partition
2- I used syslinux to make write the MBR to make it bootable
3- I copied all the files from the CD to this partition including the protected and system files .
4- I moved all the files inside the isolinux folder to outside .
5- I renamed isolinux.cfg to syslinux.cfg , and checked its content .. it does not need changes .
but this way also did not work for me , the booting stopped after the initrd loading , and it could not mount the RootFS .
actually , I don't know how this system boots , and I tried every thing I know to install Zeroshell to HDD and make its files editable .
I am new the Linux , and i am trying to improve my knowledge ..
so please I need the professionals help with this situation
thanks for your replys in advance
thanks , but i know this way ..
this will write the zeroshell image as it is on the HDD , keeping the ISO9660 FS , and it is read only file system ...
i want to do some modifications , how i can change the FS to R/W FS ?
You don't edit a CDROM (image) directly. You can loopmount the partition, extract the El Torito if any, copy CDROM contents to a R/W FS, edit, mkisofs, then 'dd' back in the image. You better move the next partition first if the image size is bigger than the original.

I read somewhere that you can do a bit of modification in Zeroshell. /Database/ folder can be edited. I am not a guru. You can search along that path.
